Merge & organize PDFs

Add PDFs and put the files in order. Then use Pages to move, turn or remove single pages.

You set the page order by hand in Pages. Moving a file or changing a Pages box here will ask before it puts pages back in file order.

Pages box: leave empty for all. 1-3, 5, 8- (8 to the end), with commas between. 3-1 gives the pages backwards. A page can be listed twice.

Put pages back in file order?

You moved pages by hand in Pages. This change to the file list puts every page back in file order.

Turned pages stay turned. Removed pages stay removed. Changed your mind later? Press Undo (↶).

Merge & Organize — how to use

Add files — drop PDFs anywhere on the page, or click the dashed box. You can add more at any time. A password-protected file asks for its password; "Skip this file" leaves it out.

Files — put the files in order: drag a file by its ⠿ handle, or use ↑ ↓. The top file comes first. The Pages box picks pages from a file: leave it empty for all, or type 1-3, 5, 8- (8 to the end), with commas between. 3-1 gives the pages backwards. A page listed twice appears twice.

Pages — every page of the new file, in order. A·2 means page 2 of file A. Drag a page to move it. Click pages to select them (Shift+click selects a run), then turn them, move them to the start or end, or remove them. With a mouse, each page also has its own turn and remove buttons. On a phone, tap pages to pick them and use the buttons at the bottom.

Undo — the ↶ button next to Files and Pages, or Ctrl+Z, takes back the last change (also a removed file). ↷ or Ctrl+Y does it again.

Files and Pages together — removing a page also takes it out of its file's Pages box. If you moved pages by hand, moving a file or changing a Pages box asks first, because it puts every page back in file order. Turned pages stay turned.

Download PDF — pages are copied as they are: text, fonts and images are not re-printed or blurred. Links and bookmarks to pages you keep still work. Form fields stay fillable. If two files have a field with the same name, the later one gets _2 added, so the two do not share one value.

Left-out pages — a page you did not pick is not in the new file at all, not even hidden. A file that had a password comes out without one.
